Web Programming Languages
There are scores of programming
languages. We work in a few of them.
PHP
When it comes to the web and webservers, some programming
languages are best suited for the web. Your best performance option
would be PHP. PHP is an open source (means free) scripting language
that is a executed on the server. There are scores of existing scripts
on the web that can be customized and used for almost any idea you have
for your web site.
Javascript In addition to PHP we work with
Javascripting. Unlike PHP Javascript is executed in the client side.
Used to embed functions in web pages such as clocks, calculators, effects
and much more.
HTML HTML is considered the simplest language to code, but it is hardly
executed well in regards to design. Knowing how to make HTML work within the design
element is a talent few have. Just look at every personal web site out
there. Sure knowing some HTML is good, knowing how to HTML is great.
DHTML
DHTML is a sound step above HTML. The D stands for dynamic.
In most cases you will see DHTML used to create dynamic menus for navigation
on home pages.
Perl
When it comes to old stand-by's, Perl is it. Although Perl is still
relevant on the web, it was never built for the web. Perls is open source
code (free), used for creating CGI (common gateway interface) programs
(application driven web pages) because it is faster than UNIX shell
script programs. Therefore we do not encourage using it, but can work
in it.
Flash
Flash is a technology developed by Macromedia to enhance usablity of
web sites. This technology has been abused for some time now, in that
most Flash sites lower usability. If you use us to create work in Flash,
you have our word that usability is our paramount concern.
