How to start a blog

Starting a blog can be done one of two ways.
  1. Downloadable Software. Hosted by you at your website. Most companies that provided this type solution have begun to charge licensing fees. Most recently in May 2004 vendors like Movable Type no longer offer a free version. Other vendors offer you a stripped down version requiring an upgrade fee similar to shareware. These type of blogs are no longer popular.


  2. No Software Download. - Instantly created and published to through a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape. Hosted by SpyProductions BUT you can still use your domain name (or ours).

What is a Blog or Web Log?
A blog is instant web publishing without using HTML, FTP or utilizing technical skills. All you need is a web browser. There is no HTML to learn and no new software to download and install. SpyBlog has many features such as instant article and photo publishing. Your SpyBlog keeps you organized. Each time you publish an article or photo to your blog they are time and datestamped. You can change the color style of your blog on the fly. Clicking on any day in the calander will list all the articles you published on that day. Using Your Domain Using Our Domain
 
When using your own domain you can customize your address three ways:
  • BlogUserName.YourDomainName.com
    Ex. username.supersite.com


  • UniqueName.YourDomainName.com
    Ex. thoughts.supersite.com


  • YourDomainName.com
    Ex. supersite.com
 
When using our domain you personalize our address two ways. If you don't choose a name, your address defaults to your user name and our spyblog.us domain. Or at sign-up select a name you prefer:
  • BlogUserName.spyblog.us
    Ex. username.spyblog.us


  • name you select.spyblog.us
    Ex. anyname.spyblog.us

 
 
What if I don’t have my own Domain?
Your BLOG address becomes your SpyBlog account name followed by spyblog.us. Example: If you asked for an account name of superjohnny then your Blog address will be: superjohnny.spyblog.us. People would find your Blog at: http://superjohnny.spyblog.us.
 
Can I Change my BLOG Address?
You bet! Contact support via a service request and we will help you change the address.

What Does a Blog Look like?
