Mike Lee is an ethnomusicologist researching the intersections of music, religion, and technology.

NERDY STUFF:

Mike holds degrees in religion, political science, music and a PhD from Indiana University in ethnomusicology. He researches the intersections of music, religion, and technology. His 2016 dissertation, "Making Church Sound: Contemporary Christian Discourse and Practice about Audio Production and Religious Experience" is a multi-sited ethnographic exploration of church audio creatives online, at local churches, and national conferences.

Mike has taught many collegiate courses including World Music and Cultures, Global Pop Music, and has lectured for courses ranging from Music and Religion to Photography to Ethnographic Fieldwork Methods. Mike regularly consults regarding best practices for digital archival practices, digital fieldwork methods, and photography.
